Readymade Newsletters, LLC was founded to
help security alarm companies improve their customer retention by building better connections
with their customers and increasing consumption - getting their customers to buy more goods and
services.
The idea was came to me during
a dinner banquet where I found myself seated across the table from a gentleman who looked
familiar to me. As we went around the table introducing ourselves, I placed the face - an
optometrist from whom I had purchased my glasses over five years
ago.
What struck me like a ton of bricks was
that subsequent to my purchase of $600 worth of frame, lenses and sunglasses, I never heard from
him again! Talk about not knowing the value of a customer – or worse, knowing the value of a
customer, but not doing anything about it.
My brain immediately sorted through the
various service providers and retailers I have made significant purchases from over the years,
and without exception – no ongoing contact.
The problem is that business owners are
too busy to sit down and consistently produce a newsletter. In my research I’ve seen plenty of
examples where a monthly newsletter gets started, but before too long, monthly becomes
bi-monthly, to once a quarter, to the graveyard of great ideas.
So at the end of the day, it's not about
the newsletter; it's about building a strong connection with the customer. A stronger connection
with the customer facilitates higher consumption of the goods and services you have to offer,
which results in higher customer retention.
